On May 10, 2024, Mt. Baker witnessed a historic spectacle: the strongest geomagnetic storm in 21 years. The auroras painted the sky with otherworldly greens, purples, and pinks in a dance of unprecedented intensity. This rare display transformed the familiar landscape into something beautifully surreal.

Each ridge and valley became a canvas for nature's most spectacular light show, as waves of luminescent color swept across the sky. The storm's intensity built throughout the night, culminating in a display that transported me straight into scenes from Brother Bear, with ribbons of light dancing and weaving through the stars. Being there felt like a cosmic match, perfectly timed to capture what might be the most extraordinary aurora display of my twenties. For those fortunate enough to witness it, this was more than just an aurora. It was a once-in-a-generation reminder of the raw magic our world still holds.
